This is a set of printable alphabet play cards in 'A is for...' format. Children can fill in the blank with new words every time. Hand out these little cards and ask children to find an object or anything that starts with each letter and write it's name on the card. It's a real fun activity to do in the house, outdoor, on the move... anywhere. Carry these cards wherever you go and bring out the challenge for the kids. You may even want to invent your own games with them - for example, it's fun to use them for treasure hunts as clue cards!

Each letter is set in varying colors and types. Collect them after playing games and they will make a lovely wall decoration. You could also take photos of them each time (as below) and later you will have a nice personal gallery of words with pictures.

Ideas

Print multiple sets and encourage children to find different words for each alphabet every time.
Put them together as a wall poster with a favorite selection of words.

Tips

Laminate them for outdoor activities and reuse them again and again.
